Whispers of
New England
“This is for us. We both want it. I’m not making any promises, and I’m not expecting anything from you. We go in with our eyes open.”
Whispers of Goodbye is a prequel to Whispers of Forgiveness. It is a quick read that will get you hooked and want to know what happens next. It is a story about Quinn and Sam, two young people who have been in love since high school and are now miles apart as Quinn attends a college out of state about ten hours away. Their relationship and love for each other will now be tested. Will they be able to survive and make it through the long-distance relationship, or are they doomed to fail? That’s all I can say without giving the story away, so you will have to go get it and read it to find out the ending. I enjoyed this book and gave it a five-star because it hooked me from the beginning, and I didn’t want to put it down.
I look forward to reading Whispers of Goodbye because I need to know what happens. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast-paced, keep you guessing emotional read.

The prequel that I read for this left me wanting more. This is about Sam and Quinn, two people who believe they are soulmates. When Quinn leaves for college, Sam and her have to figure out how to make their relationship work with the distance. Will the relationship survive, or will it end in heartbreak? The cliffhanger has left me needing/wanting more.
Whispers of Goodbye is the prequel to the new series, that starts with Whispers of Forgiveness, which comes out in October. Being the prequel, I’m glad that Sue allowed us to really get to know the MMC and FMC on a deep level to set the stage for the whole Whispers of New England series. The story follows two young lovers, Sam and Quinn, as they navigate some big life changes. Will they be able to make it? I love short books like this that I can read in an afternoon. Sue is dubbing this a “steamy-cozy” series, which is exactly what this is because it has some nice spice!
A great back story to Whispers of Forgiveness! Definitely recommend reading this one first!
This is the first book in the New England series that had me glued to every page! In this second-chance Romance, we get to see more of Quinn and Sam’s lives as they reunite 10 years later. It definitely felt like a cozy Fall Romance!
I really enjoyed this book! Sam and Quinn’s inner dialog was so relatable, and their chemistry was certainly steamy! I love the writing style, and I loved seeing the ups and downs, personal growth, and Healing within Sam and Quinn. I liked how the story progressed and the ending was perfect!
I am so excited to see what Author Sue mills has in store for us with the New England series! be sure to Read the prequel novella Whispers of Goodbye to get an insight into the early Years of Sam And Quinn’s relationship 10 years earlier.
Sue Mills wrote a beautiful second chance romance.
You should first read the short prequel, Whispers of Goodbye to obtain the background for Quinn and Sam.
Quinn met Sam when she was sixteen and they were together for two years before she left for college. While Quinn was away they both made mistakes which ultimately ended their relationship. Sam met someone two years later and now had a six year old daughter. Quinn focused on her career, advanced degrees, as well as her mental health.
Ten years later they surprisingly met at a conference and got together to talk about the past. They learned they had both matured over the past ten years. Do they take a leap to find their second chance at love?
Looking forward to hearing more about Quinn and Sam in the next installment.
Whispers of Forgiveness: Book One in the Whispers of New England Steamy-Cozy Series
I read the prequel to this which was Whispers Of Goodbye and then I went to read this book . Sam and Quinn finally meet after being separated for 10 years ! The story goes on about how both their lives have changed and the difficulties they both faced throughout the 10 years they were apart . Whenever they first see eachother to say they were surprised and nervous was an understatement but then they decide that dinner will be the best place to talk either about their lives now or the past . Sam is keeping secrets and doesn’t know if he should tell Quinn . This story has truly kept me guessing . Especially about the characters because you can tell there’s still a spark between them they just aren’t sure if they are ready to explore it . (Which later on you will see in this book if they decide to explore that spark or keep it hidden to themselves) I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book to see if they can overcome obstacles they will face or will it be the end of Sam and Quinn .
This book has left me in complete awe and excited for more!!
Forgiveness is everything. Not everything is meant to be the first time around and I love a good second chance story.
But will they?
I’m ready for the next book Sue!!!
I finished this book in just one day ! That’s how good it is, in my opinion. It has spice.!! I couldn’t put this book down at all. But you will have to read the first book before this one so that you know the story. LOVE THIS BOOK!!
I am a sucker for second chances and make that double when it’s a lost love from high school!
Quinn and Sam were high school best friends turned lovers and had a great relationship for two years after Sam went to college. Then the world fell away when they broke up and went their separate ways. Fast forward 12 years and they meet up again by chance at a conference.
What would you do if faced with the possibility of answering all the what if’s? Would you take a chance or play it safe?
This book game me all the feels as I know this story inside and out with my own love story.
